Important change to credit card charges

Dear Customer

From 16th November 2009, Adam Internet will be making a change to the fee structure of credit card transactions. Until now, Adam Internet has absorbed the fees applied by our bank to the credit card transactions we process. Regrettably, we will no longer be able to absorb this charge and will be introducing a Credit Card Surcharge to recover the direct cost of these credit card transaction fees. The majority of our competitors have had similar fees in place for some time and we will move towards being in line with this industry practice.

This means that from 16th November 2009 any payments made by credit card, including automated credit card payments, will incur a Credit Card Surcharge as outlined below:

As an example, if you pay a bill of $44.95, a charge of 35c will apply for Visa and MasterCard, $1.34 for Diners Club and $1.35 for American Express. These examples are all inclusive of GST.

If you wish to use an alternative payment option, direct debit is also available for use when processing any automated account charge. You can change your primary payment method to direct debit by logging in to the Members Services Area and clicking on Account Manager on the left hand menu or by calling the Adam Internet Help Desk on (08) 8423 4000. Direct debit does not attract the Credit Card Surcharge, but you should contact your financial institution to check any direct debit fees they may charge.

Please note that the Credit Card Surcharge for any automated credit card charge will appear on your following month’s bill. The Credit Card Surcharge rates are subject to change and will be updated in the Schedule of Fees and Charges on the Adam Internet website when necessary.
