Billion 7800VDOX Mobile Broadband Fallover (Backup) Setup Guide
This guide will walk you through configuring the Billion 7800VDOX to fail over to a Mobile Broadband (AnyG) service should the primary connection fail (dropout).
|Plug the power adapter to turn on the Billion 7800VDOX.|
|Allow 60 - 90 seconds for the Billion 7800VDOX to power up.|
|Connect your computer to any Ethernet port on the Billion 7800VDOX.|
Connect your routers EWAN (Port 4) socket to the ethernet wall socket installed by NBN Co.
Before progressing to the next step ensure that the router has a solid Ethernet 4 light.
|Ensure that your Mobile Broadband dongle is plugged into the USB port a the rear of the Billion 7800VDOX.|
|Open the web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari etc) on the computer, type in http://192.168.1.254/ in the address bar and then press Enter.|
Log into the modem by entering the Username admin and the Password admin.
The press the Login button.
|On the left menu select Configuration.|
|The from the left menu select WAN.|
|Press the Edit button for the USB3G0 Interface.|
Ensure that Failover is Enabled.
Set Mode to Use 3G/LTE dongle settings.
Set TEL No. to *99***1#.
Set APN to splns444A1.
Leave Username, Password and PIN blank.
Ensure that Authentication Method is set to AUTO.
Leave Dial on demand and Keep Alive are not Enabled.
Ensure that NAT and Firewall are Enabled.
Set MTU to 1500.
Press the Apply button.
