Billion 7402X Authentication Setup Guide For Business ADSL2+ & Business Naked DSL

This guide will walk you through configuring the Billion 7402X modem for use with the Business ADSL2+ & Business Naked DSL service.

Step 1
Plug the power adapter to turn on the Billion 7402X.
Step 2
Allow 60 - 90 seconds for the Billion 7402X to power up.
Step 3
Connect your computer to any Ethernet port on the Billion 7402X.
Step 4
Connect your modem to the phone ADSL enabled phone socket.
Before progressing to the next step ensure that the modem has a solid DSL light.
Step 5
Open the web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari etc) on the computer, type in in the address bar and then press Enter. Billion 7402X 6

Log into the modem by entering the Username admin and the Password admin.

The press the Login button.

On the left menu select Quick Start. Billion 7402X 8

Ensure that Connect Mode is set to ADSL.

Press the Continue button.

Ensure that Auto Scan is set to Auto.

Press the Apply button.

You will then see a message that counts down. This is the modem configuring itself with the details that you just supplied.

Set Profile Port to ADSL.

Set Protocol to PPPoE ( RFC2516, PPP over Ethernet ).

Set VPI/VCI to 8 / 35.

Set Username to your Adam Internet username (eg Ensure that you include after your username.

Set Password to your Adam Internet account password.

Set Service Name to Adam.

Set Auth. Protocol to Chap(Auto).

Set MTU to 1492.

Set IP Address to

Ensure that Obtain DNS automatically is Enabled.

Set Primary DNS/Secondary DNS to and

Press the Apply button.

Be Careful: You are not finished yet. You need to save your settings otherwise the modem will forget your what you have entered next time it loses power.

A dialogue box will then appear advising that the Save Config to FLASH Successful.

You have now saved your settings and are now able to use your internet connection.
