Netcomm NB16WV Mobile Broadband Failover Setup Guide
This guide will walk you through configuring the Netcomm NB16WV to failover to Mobile Broadband should the ADSL service is interrupted.
Requirement: You will need an active mobile broadband service is required for the failover service to function.
|Plug the power adapter to turn On the NB16WV.|
|Allow 60 - 90 seconds for the NB16WV to power up.|
|Connect your computer to any Ethernet port on the NB16WV.|
|Connect your Mobile Broadband USB dongle to the USB port in the router.|
|Open the web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari etc) on the computer, type in http://192.168.1.1/ in the address bar and then press Enter.|
Log into the modem by entering the Username 'admin' and the Password 'admin'.
The press the 'Login' button.
If the 'First Time Setup Wizard' is displayed select 'No thanks, take me to the basic interface'.
Otherwise, click the 'Switch to advanced view' link at the bottom right of the Basic View to get into to get into the Advanced View mode.
|Click 'Network Setup' and then click 'Network Setup' (from the drop down options) on the top menu.|
We will now configure the modems ADSL and Mobile Broadband settings.
Ensure that WAN Interface is set to ADSL, PVC0 and Active.
Ensure that WAN Type is set to PPP over Ethernet.
Ensure that Automatic 3G Backup is enabled and set the Remote Host for keep alive is set to www.google.com.
Ensure that IPv6 Dualstack is not enabled.
Set Username to your Adam Internet accounts username with @adam.com.au following it.
Set Password to your Adam Internet accounts password.
Set Primary DNS to 18.104.22.168.
Set Secondary DNS to 22.214.171.124.
Ensure that Connection Control is set to Auto Reconnect (always-on).
Leave Service Name and Assigned IP Address blank.
Set MTU to 0.
Ensure that NAT is ticked.
Ensure that Data Encapsulation is set to LLC.
Set VPI Number to 8.
Set VCI Number to 35.
Ensure that Schedule type is set to UBR.
Ensure that Country is set to Australia.
Ensure that Service Provider is set to Adam Internet.
Set APN to splns444a1.
Leave PIN Code, Dial Number, Username and Password blank.
Ensure that Authentication Type is set to Auto.
Leave Primary DNS and Secondary DNS fields blank.
Ensure that Allowed COnnection Time is set to Always.
Set MTU to 0.
Set Keep Alive to Disable, Interval to 10 seconds, Max. Failure Time to 3 times, leave Host IP blank and set the second occurrence of Interval to 60 seconds.
Ensure that Multicast is set to Disable.
Ensure that IGMP Snooping and VLAN TAG are not ticked.
When complete press the Save button.
A dialogue box will then ask you to click OK to proceed.
This will reboot your modem and apply the new settings.
The modem will then reboot and be ready for use after about two minutes.
