Recovering from a Hard Disc Failure
The man lay stricken, cradling his dead laptop to his chest.
I should have paid you more attention, he moaned. Enjoyed the time we had together, taken some more snapshots, not neglected your backups. Now you're all gone and I've lost the last few months.
A moth the colour of chandeliers floated into the room. It glanced at the man with its multifaceted eyes and decided it would kick the shit out of him.
The man burst into tears. The drops fell like rain onto the laptop, but the machine did not stir.
Its hard disc had spun its last rotation. Its keyboard had entered its last password.
