SACAS Cultural Events

These events are open to all SACAS members and their dates are loosely set by the Chinese Calendar.  Some are also classified as "Open Events" and non-members may attend these to see if SACAS is the group for them.  These events provide a great opportunity for social interaction and also a platform to learn a little more about Chinese culture in a fun and accessible way.  Many of these events are now regular favourites and you can see a pictorial history of them by clicking on our 2006 Photos , 2007 Photos and 2008 Photos..  The Annual General Meeting is also included in this category of events as all SACAS members are encouraged to attend..

Bamboo-Crew

This is a new group designed for families with children approaching 5 years of age or older.  It will provide opportunities to come together for friendship, support and age appropriate activities.  Some of these activities will be fun and cultural and others will just be fun.  Most activities will occur in or around the school holidays to maximise the ability of 5+ children to attend.  However others may be scheduled simply to take advantage of seasonal or on-off public events in Adelaide.  This is a new program and it will evolve over time.  If you have children in this age range (biological or adopted) we encourage you to get involved and shape its future.  A new web-page has been developed and can be viewed by clicking on Bamboo-Crew.

Panda-Play Activities

A playgroup designed for SACAS Members with children aged 0-5 years (biological or adopted).  Other interested members are welcome to arrange a visit to Panda-Play by speaking with the coordinators.  It is held every Monday during School Terms at 9.30-11.30.  Panda-Play has its own webpage and can be found by clicking this link to Panda-Play.

Waiting Parents Events

The term “Waiting Parent” defines anyone who has a file being processed by AFIS or CCAA.  Some Waiting Parents already have children (adopted or biological), however Waiting Parent Events are deliberately child-free as the presence of children can have a significant impact on the ability of adults to discuss complex and sensitive issues.
