Ni-Hao and Welcome to SACAS The People's Republic of China adoption program has been operating in South Australia since 2000 and has been growing steadily each year. SACAS was formed in 2004 to support adoptive families and to assist those in the process of adopting a Chinese child. The SACAS Vision, Mission and Objectives are outlined in its Constitution. The SACAS logo incorporates the Chinese Characters for "Adoption" or "Shou-Yang", a Lady-Bug and a Red Thread. In recent times, Lady-Bugs have become a lucky symbol for the Chinese Adoption Community. In more ancient times, the Chinese believed that:
"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.”
Many adoptive parents share this belief and some wear “red-thread” bracelets to symbolise the destiny that brought them all together as a family. SACAS has many events and a growing range of services. So why not join our supportive and fun community. |
