What is CommunityNet?
CommunityNet is an initiative of Adam Internet that allows AdamDirect customers on the same telephone exchange to share files between each other without counting towards any of their data quotas.
How does it work?
Since CommunityNet is only available between customers on the same telephone exchange*, data is transmitted directly between the customers connections at the exchange and not over the Internet. This allows for data transfers that don't count onto any of your existing data quotas.
How much does it cost?
FREE! All AdamDirect customers can enjoy the feature for no added cost.
What's in it for me?
Free and unlimited connectivity with your local community. Adam Internet provides a Forum for CommunityNet and a CommunityNet IRC Server which can be accessed once you have setup CommunityNet on your modem. Each exchange has a different server address which can be obtained in the Forums by Clicking Here.
How do i set it up?
CommunityNet needs to be setup through a second PVC connection in your modem using the VPI/VCI of 8/36 and a DHCP connection type. Although Adam Internet can not support CommunityNet through our Help Desk, we have supplied several guides on how to setup CommunityNet with your modem. You can also seek assistance at the CommunityNet Forums.
