Again in 2014, Team Adam is running for a great cause, this year Ronald McDonald House Adelaide, a truly inspirational charity who provide care and support for children and families during and after serious illness.
Adam Internet have been supporters of Ronald McDonald House Adelaide for several years and we’re sure you’ll agree they are a worthy cause.
Meet 2014 Team Adam Ambassador - James Chapman
Life can change in a heartbeat ~ and no-one knows this better than 16 year old, James.
In September 2011 at age 13, James was involved in a motorbike accident that left him a paraplegic.
James has since spent nearly two years on and off in the Women’s & Children’s Hospital. His long stays were made a bit easier by having the support of his mum, Dani and younger sisters, Mackenzie and Jaquarra staying at Ronald McDonald House and dad, Corey juggling their family business commitments, joining them in Adelaide when he could. “We were very fortunate to be able to stay at Ronald McDonald House because it was a huge upheaval to move to Adelaide and by the end, it did become our home.” Dani said.
James is thrilled to be back home in Quorn with all his friends and family, ready to continue Year 10 studies and his aspirations of pursuing a career in agriculture. While James is still avidly supporting his mates and his local footy team, he is now keen to try archery.
When asked ‘who he admired and why’ James answered “My mum – she’s the strongest person I know….and she’s a great cook!”
Though there is no place like home, Ronald McDonald House Adelaide strives to provide a safe and comfortable environment where the whole family can stay together. The supportive environment of the House, greatly assists their mission of providing quality care and services to families when they need it most.

Team Adam Highlights From The Past
2013 Team Adam - Running for the AWL
Adam Internet's Team Adam raises $15,000 for the Animal Welfare League
12 December 2013 – Following on from previous year's successes, Adam Internet and the Animal Welfare League (AWL) once again joined forces with a team in the 2013 Sunday Mail City-Bay Fun Run in the name of fun and fundraising.
With the help of 216 enthusiastic Team Adam City-Bay participants as well as Adam Internet customers and staff, Team Adam managed to raise $15,000 for the lost and abandoned pets of the AWL in 2013.
Michael Pratt, Fundraising and Events Coordinator at the AWL expresses his thanks, "The AWL would like to thank Adam Internet including all staff for the amazing support of the 2013 City-Bay Team. We appreciate all the support we received and would like to thank everyone who made a contribution to this year's fundraising efforts."
With the aid of 7 year old AWL Junior Ambassador William, this year, Team Adam not only saw a record fundraising total but also the highest team participation since the charity arms establishment.
Michael Owen, Chief Operating Officer from Adam Internet echo's the sentiments, "Adam Internet through our charity arm, Team Adam has been a keen supporter of the AWL for several years. We're extremely proud of what Team Adam achieved in 2013 which was made possible with the support of William, our staff, customers and the general public."
Supporting SIDS and Kids Red Nose Day
SIDS and Kids is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood, and supporting bereaved families. In Australia each year, over 3,500 families experience the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or child, in many cases, without the cause known.
In 2013, we supported SIDS and Kids by launching a campaign to raise money and awareness for the charity. Adam Internet staff, friends and customers raised $1,731, but the company decided to donate an additional $4500 to this very important cause. To help raise awareness for SIDS and Kids, we also participated in Red Nose day. Adam Internet offices were decorated with red noses and we held a special Red Nose theme casual day to help with the fundraising efforts.
Santos Tour Down Under and the Bupa Challenge 2013
Adam Internet again supported the Santos Tour Down Under in 2013. In addition to providing web hosting and vital internet connectivity, we also supported the official event charity, Cancer Council SA, through our participation in the Bupa Team Challenge. 20 Team Adam members competed against thousands of other cyclists to complete the circuit of Stage 4 of the Santos Tour Down Under. Adam Internet staff, friends and customers raised $7,685 for the Cancer Council SA in 2013.
Supporting the Starlight Children's Foundation
For 25 years, Starlight Children's Foundation has been granting once in a lifetime magical Starlight Wishes for critically and chronically ill children. Each Starlight Wish is entirely unique and is designed to give the child something to look forward to through their toughest times. Adam Internet is proud to support this great organisation and since our involvement with Starlight, Adam Internet has donated two wishes, helping children like James and Ivy to fulfill their life time dream and escape from the pain and monotony of regular treatments.
