Netcomm NP803n Login/Wireless Setup Guide

This guide will walk you through setting up the Netcomm NP803n router to get access to the Internet and will also configure the wireless LAN on the router at the same time.

Configuring the Router

  1. To start, open an internet browser window (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.). The page will not finish loading, this is normal as we are not connected to the Internet yet.

Internet browser window open, not connected.

  2. At the top of the browser window is the address bar, this may currently contain a website address such as:

    http://www.websitename.com.au

Delete this address entirely and type in the following number:

    192.168.20.1

    Press Enter on the keyboard.

    Entering router IP address

  3. A login prompt will be displayed requesting a username and password. This is the router username and password and is not to be confused with your Adam Internet username and password.

Enter the username admin and the password admin. Click OK.

  4. Once the browser has logged in, the router status page will be displayed. This page contains information about the router and connection such as firmware version and connection speeds.

  5. The router has a simple wizard to help you setup the login details. Click Next.

  6. Select AP Router Mode and click Next.

  7. The router will try to automatically detect your settings. Depending on whether this succeeds you will see a different screen.

If the connection is automatically detected, select DHCP in the menu that appears and click Next.

If the connection is to be setup manually or the auto-detect fails click Manual Config and move on to the next step.

This name will appear when you search for a wireless network to help you identify which network in the area is yours. For the Key field, enter a strong passphrase, minimum 8 characters.

  10. The next screen will show a summary of your setup. Ensure your settings are correct and then click Reboot.
