Netcomm NB6plus4Wn Hardware Setup Guide For ADSL & ADSL2+

This guide will walk you through setting up the Netcomm NB6plus4Wn modem for use with the ADSL & ADSL2+ service.

Step 1 - Turning On The Modem Modem Setup

Plug the power adapter to both a power socket and the rear of the modem. The proceed to turn on the modem.

The Netcomm NB6plus4Wn has an on / off switch at its rear.
Step 2 - Powering Up The Modem
Allow 60 - 90 seconds for the Netcomm NB6plus4Wn to power up.
Step 3 - Connecting The Modem To The Phone Socket
Using the phone cable that is supplied with the Netcomm NB6plus4Wn connect the modem to the a telephone wall socket in the premises.

Ensure that you do not place a Line Filter between the modem and the telephone wall socket.

The only exception to the above is if you opt to use a Line Splitter. A Line Splitter will enable you to connect a telephone and modem to a single phone socket.

Should a Central Splitter be installed within the premises a single phone socket should be labelled Internet or ADSL, ensure that your modem is connect to one of these sockets.
Step 4 - Connecting Phones To Other Phone Sockets
To keep phones connected to the landline, it is important that a line filter be connected to the phone cable between the phone socketed and the telephone itself for each socket in use at the premises.

Note: Failure to correctly filter phones throughout the premises can lead to dropouts and slow broadband speeds.

Step 5 - Connecting To The Exchange
Once the phone cable is connected and modem powered on, the ADSL/DSL light on the modem will commence flashing. This indicates that the modem negotiating a connection with the ADSL/DSL equipment at your local telephone exchange. When this negotiation is successfully completed the ADSL/DSL light will remain permanently on.
