Available within The Precinct CBD Development

As National Broadband Network (NBN) test sites pop up across Australia, residents at Adelaide’s newest CBD residential development are already enjoying one of Australia’s first super high-speed broadband networks, capable of reaching speeds of up to 100mbps.

The new network is available to residents at The Precinct, and uses Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line 2 (VDSL2) technology to deliver customers Internet speeds four times faster than ADSL2+.

The network is part of a new partnership between leading South Australian ISP, Adam Internet and award-winning developer, Urban Construct.

Adam Internet Chairman, Greg Hicks, said VDSL2 was a superior technology that allowed users to download songs within seconds and movies within minutes and manage multiple tasks such as VoIP without any time lag.

“VDSL2 is superior to a number of other broadband technologies with the price comparable to other high speed products on the market. The use of this technology in new developments, such as The Precinct, is the way of the future and will be expected from consumers buying in new developments,” Mr Hicks said.

“Adam Internet is one of only two ISPs in Australia to utilise VDSL2 technology and The Precinct residents have a distinct advantage in that they will be able to access one of Australia’s fastest Internet connections, which, at present, is only available to a couple of thousand people across the nation,” he said.

Urban Construct CEO, Todd Brown, said the use of VDSL2 technology in The Precinct was an important element of the development’s vision, enhancing the contemporary city living atmosphere of the project.

“With the completion of Stage Two – Altitude - it was timely to start rolling out this state-of-the-art technology,” Mr Brown said.

“We’re excited to have partnered with Adam Internet to make available this prevailing technology to the residents of The Precinct as it goes hand-in-hand with the world class lifestyle facilities.  Residents of The Precinct will have access to the fastest Internet speeds around, as well as the ability to tap into a community intranet that allows them to connect and communicate amongst one other.”

On completion,The Precinct project, which has completed its first two stages (The Gallery and Altitude), will consist of approximately 1400 new city apartments.

The Precinctt is the Adelaide CBD’s largest urban renewal development and is situated at the former Balfours site on the corner of Morphett and Franklin streets, and adjacent the Adelaide Central Bus Station site. There is a number of facilities on site including Adelaide’s first cantilevered pool, spa, sauna and steam rooms.
