The first South Australian Variety Bash was held in 1989 and over the past 17 years the Bash itself has raised over $18 million dollars. In 2006 the Bash raised a huge $1.4 million net for the special children.
This years Bash will take participants from Mt. Gambier to Tanunda, starting on August 11th and finishing on August 18th. The entourage will visit many remote regional areas along the way helping outback communities and individual children. Stopover points include (but aren't limited to):

Dubbed a meandering marathon of mateship, the 'Bashers' will travel more than 3-thousand kilometres over eight days, taking in many remote rural areas of South Australia. This journey takes bashers through many interesting rural communities.
350 people will be involved in the 2007 Bash, including the occupants of 90 Bash vehicles, 30 official vehicles including Mobile Workshops, Medical crews, Bash Officials, a plane, a semi trailer and four media/VIP cars.
