High on Life—the new designer drug from Kevin Cline

When someone tells you that they’re “high on life”, it’s time to get worried. They want you to think that they don’t need artificial stimuli because they’re so happy with everything around them.

This is not a normal mental state!

Ironically, people who are “high on life” have a higher suicide rate than the average, beer swilling, pain killing, generally-intoxicated-whenever-possible members of society [1].

The “high on life” sensation may be the result of a hormone imbalance in the body that increases the possibility of sudden and violent swings in behaviour and mood [2]. Other research [3] suggests it could also be a tumour pressing against the adrenal gland. Yes, “high on life” and “homicidal maniac” are that close together on the emotional spectrum.

The next time someone tells you that they’re “high on life”, stay calm but report them to the nearest police officer or psychiatric warden you find.

Try not to make eye contact.
