Update 27/10/2007: During the time since I first posted this article, it seems that someone did hunt NT Search to the ends of the earth, as their website has disappeared and been parked. My computer was infected with adware from NT Search the other day (one of the perils of sharing a computer with other people is that they will download viruses and adware all the time). This particular adware program puts keyword links to the NT Search homepage in every HTML page that you view. I don’t need to tell anyone how fucking annoying this is. What I don’t understand is how a fuckjob like unauthorised installation of an adware program is supposed to do a company any good. For people who know what they’re doing, it’s annoying to track down the executable program and registry key entry to zap the fucking thing. (People who don’t know what they’re doing deserve whatever they get.) Once corrected, most people — like me — will call jihad on the offending company. NT Search should be hounded to the end of the earth and sacrificed to the silicon gods. We will cut the testicles from the carcass and eat them so that we may grow strong. Adware or popups or any other forms of cunt-act advertising are self defeating because then everyone hates you. Are these companies who make adware stupid or just shit eaters?
