HOME PAGE Who and What The Port Adelaide Historical Society is a volunteer-based group incorporated in 1973 which has successfully preserved the past for the future in our district and surrounding areas. Rooms are maintained in the upstairs area of the Semaphore Library, 14 Semaphore Road. The Society also conducts the Austbuilt Maritime Museum at 95 Fletcher Road, Peterhead. Our AimIs "Preserving the Past for the Future" and to this end we have successfully gathered a comprehensive account of Port Adelaide with photographs, books, written material and artefacts, and will continue in collecting and providing access to our collections for the local residents and researchers. Enquiries are answered through contact by mail or e.mail by our volunteers who depend upon contributions to continue this service.

Our rooms above the Semaphore Library are open each Friday afternoon from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. and monthly public meetings are conducted in the upstairs foyer of the Semaphore Library on the third Wednesday of each month. The Port Adelaide Historical Society Austbuilt Maritime Museum is open the public each Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. and each Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 95 Fletcher Road, Peterhead.
