The article Armageddon by 2000 AD says "Jehovah" (Investigator 51) gave the Watchtower Society (WTS) predictions of Armageddon in the 20^th century.

A word search of the WTS’s CD-ROM reveals that the WTS society also quoted many secular sources that emphasized crisis in the 20^th century.

Such secular crisis-quotes would have reinforced in JW minds the prophecies of the world ending in the 20^th century.
