The Bible has lots of health-promoting counsel.

This we expect from scriptures such as:

I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.
(John 10:10)

My son, be attentive to my words
For they are life to him who finds them,
and healing to all their flesh.
(Proverbs 4:20-22)

Pennebaker & Susman (1988) wrote:

We have demonstrated that the disclosure of important personal events has physical and psychological benefits.

Compare:
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:4)

Therefore confess you sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. (James 5:l6)
