Data Suppliers
Adam Internet maintains data supplies with several major ‘Tier 1‘ carriers as well as maintaining links with AdNAP, SAIX and Pipe
Networks. All suppliers have been selected because of their performance, network support and independent ‘self-healing‘ capabilities. Each upstream supplier are performance monitored and in the event of failure, data is re-routed in milliseconds via Adam Internet’s independent BGP capability to alternate Tier 1 carriers.

Redundant Fibre
Adam Internet recognises that all networks can be interrupted by fibre breaks caused by roadworks and other external events. We have taken extraordinary care to ensure that this type of accident can never affect the service we deliver to our customers. All fibre emanating from our Data Centre has its own redundant (secondary) fibre link, strategically located so that one fibre is not located with the other. In most cases, if one fibre leaves our Data Centre via the north, the other leaves via the south, taking entirely separate routes to the Internet.

Physical Redundancy
Adam Internet maintains ‘Hot Swap‘ equipment as the ultimate backup to ensure its layered approach to redundancy. Critical equipment and components are held on-site ready to be powered up at a moment’s notice. All ‘Hot Swap’ equipment is maintained in operational order using the most stable version of its operating system.

High Availability Network Infrastructure
Our network is designed to eliminate any single point of failure. For example, we use carrier grade Cisco equipment consisting of multiple core routers interlinked to ensure that in the event that one fails, the other will automatically take over. Each router has dual power supplies connected to separate UPSs on different power circuits within the Data Centre. At all points of risk, network equipment has built-in redundancy with many examples of dual power supplies, processor cards and switching cards.
Adam Internet’s network has been continually enhanced to withstand the most obscure failure. Our network design is the culmination of over 20 years of networking experience. The diagram below depicts a very simplified version of the Data Centre.
